At our core we are a purposed people, praising God with joy and gladness. Wherever we are in life, we believe that God has a transforming plan that molds us into a better person for His Glory and our benefit.
These tenets bind the community of Aspen Park together, and we want you to be apart of it.
Beliefs / Doctrine
Individually, as followers of Jesus Christ, what we believe matters. It shapes how we behave and what we do. Within the scope of what we belief there are certain aspects of our beliefs that are the “main things.” These foundational areas include what we believe about God, the Bible, Salvation, and the Church. While beliefs may vary from person to person, these are which churches often unite around. As a cooperating church with Great Commission Baptists (aka the Southern Baptist Convention), we generally agree with the tenets set forth in the Baptist Faith & Message found here.
God
We believe in one God-eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and always present, existing as three Persons - Father, Son, and Spirit, one in nature, attributes, power, and glory. God will be glorified by all creation and is worthy of worship from all humans.
Genesis 1:1,26; Ps. 104, 148; Proverbs 30:4; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-4, 14, 18; Acts 5:3,4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Timothy 2:3-4
Scripture
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.
Salvation
We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
Church
We believe that the local church is a gathered congregation of believers, associated by covenant, practicing self-governance, and observing the ordinances of believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. The church is to be committed to the authority of the Word of God in matters of doctrine and practice. God calls certain men to be pastors, providing spiritual leadership for the church. Deacons, likewise, minister to the church body through specific acts of service. We believe that the universal church consists of all who have saving faith in Christ. As the body of Christ, the church is to fulfill His mission of making disciples throughout the world.
Mission Statement
Pursuing God by Equipping the Church and Reaching the World.
Pursuing God
Scripture says to “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, and mind” (Matt 22:37) and the Christian expresses this by fully seeking and devoting their life to God. Here at Aspen Park, our primary purpose is to fully pursue God; and the ways we accomplish this are through worship, service, Bible study, preaching, and prayer.

Equipping the Church
God created the church as a unified body that builds each other up to accomplish the purpose of God. As such Aspen Park will disciple and enable its members to faithfully and continually live out the Word of God; and this can be seen through areas of service and sacrifice, teaching and preaching, and anything that furthers the kingdom of God through His Church.

Reaching the World
God designed mankind to magnify Himself, and He commissions His Church to do this by being His witness everywhere. Aspen Park will “become all things to all people” (1 Cor 9:22) in order to reach the world around us. This service and ministry will be to our neighbors and those across our state and to those abroad where God sends us. Reaching the world will mean that we are willing to sacrifice in order to see others be saved.
