Annie Armstrong Easter Offering 2015
Once again it’s time to show our support for North American Missions (NAMB)by contributing to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
Our church goal is $3,195 of a nationwide $60M.
Last year we exceeded this goal, and this year we expect to do the same. One way our church never disappoints is in giving to special missions projects.
This year the offering is calling attention to the numbers. Numbers that call our attention to the decline of churches in North America.
- 1 Christian church for every 430 people during World War I.
- 1 SBC church for every 6,194 people in the US in 2013.
- 1 CNBC church for every 115,040 people in Canada in 2013.
- 70% of Southern Baptist churches are plateauing or declining.
But where there is brokenness there is also hope. Send»North America is NAMB's response to these numbers. Through our prayer support and our financial support we help the NAMB build networks of churches and plant more congregations all over North America.
Sunday, March 1, launched the week of prayer for our missionaries. We've also been asked to pray about what God would have each of us give to these missions. A guide was provided in the bulletin, but if you weren't able to pick one up you can download one now.
Day 1: Send»North America's Farm System
Like in major league baseball Send»North America’s strategy is to develop church planters through a farm system, where they work from the lower leagues and develop the skills they need to become a church planter.
Pray for:
- The thousands of people currently searching through the farm system and thousands more who are needed to make Send»North America efforts a success.
- Those who are mentoring farm system missionaries, helping them develop and discern God's direction for the future.
Day 2: Travis and Staci Kerns
- Travis and Staci and the church planters in Salt Lake City as they serve in a place where the truth of the gospel is not often well received and their faith is not popular.
- Their efforts as they invest in the next generation of missionaries.
Day 3: Daniel and Linda Yang
- Daniel and Linda as they serve the diverse community and work with fellow planter Mike Seaman to grow Trinity in what is known as the world's most ethnically diverse city - a gateway to the rest of the world.
- The spark of interest many have in exploring opportunities for church planting in Canada to ignite, causing them to go to the country to further a church-planting movement there.
Learn more about the Yangs and their mission field.
Day 4: Jonathan and Shelby Land
- More churches like Mobberly Baptist Chruch to commit to supporting or sending church planters through Send»North America.
- Jonathan and Shelby as they grow Connection Church with an eye to where to start more churches.
Hear from the Lands about their work and Connection Church.
Day 5: Mark and Tammy Lashey
- Mark and Tammy to be mindful to rely on only God for direction on next steps for the church.
- For LifeHouse members to embrace living life on mission in their community and beyond.
See how the Lasheys answered God's call.
Day 6: Generation Send
Generation Send is the Student Missionary category of the farm system. It offers students and young adults the opportunity for hands-on missions internships designed to immerse them in urban context to gain practical knowledge of how real missionaries do God's work.
Pray for:
- Insight for Generation Send missionaries as to where God is working and where He wants them to serve long-term.
- Young people you believe should explore student missions opportunities through the farm system.
Learn more about Generation Send and how to get mobilized.
Day 7: Annie Armstrong
- Your role as a "modern-day Annie" in being an advocate for missions and missionaries. What do you need to do to strengthen it?
- The ability to see your community and world with fresh eyes and a renewed heart - God's heart.

Day 8: Hope-Givers
- Missionaries and church planters on the front lines who are reaching communities in the spiritually darkest areas of North America.
- Opportunities to live an intentional life on mission that attracts people to Jesus.
