Running on Empty

In man's quest for the best, we can fill our lives with things that will never bring us true happiness.

Like an automobile with a hole in the gas tank, some people are running on empty. They have full pockets but an empty life.  Our quest for getting the best material things out of life can leave use empty, without fulfillment or lasting contentment.

In Ecclesiastes we learn Solomon observed the emptiness of a life without God and found it nothing more than an endless cycle of the same thing over and over again.  Solomon was looking for something to bring him lasting satisfaction and neither education, nor laughter, no liquor worked.   Without God, life is without meaning, purpose, and enjoyment. But Jesus can plug the holes in our tank and provide fuel in our life. Through him, we gain happiness.
