When Our Blessings Become A Curse

What have you done with your blessings?

God promised Abraham a lot: an inheritance and a heritage. To be perfectly clear, God made sure Abraham’s faith was solidly placed in obedience to His commands.

Abraham received by faith a child long after his wife Sarah or he were capable of conceiving a baby. When Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 their son, Isaac, was born.

Then God asked Abraham to return this blessing of faith to Him. Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice him as God requested. He returned the blessing to God so God could multiply that blessing. Abraham saw God as sovereign in his life. Abraham’s hope was in God - not the son God blessed him with.
