The Church that God Builds
is a six-part series as part of of Aspen Park’s transition plan. The Transition Team is structured as a group of six smaller teams, each focused on a particular function. Each team is working to compile goals and action plans for the church in one area.

There is more to worship than singing hymns in church on Sunday mornings. Worship is refined as the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. The worship most of us are familiar with is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what true Biblical worship really is!

  1. Worship as a Way of Life: Begin to think of your life differently—if you are walking in the Spirit of Christ, you are a living worship service. When we are born again be become acts of worship, as our entire existence is an expression of reverence for God. As we grow in our faith our minds are transformed and we think in the way God thinks. That’s when true worship starts take root in our lifestyle. Lifestyle worship is doing anything in your life, as long as you do it in the name of Jesus.

  2. Public/Congregational/Corporate Worship: We are told to share our worship together with others through music and song. Singing has been a method of emoting to God the feelings inside believers’ hearts since the early church. Expressing our worship together through song allows us to grow as individuals and as the body of Christ. It doesn’t matter what form it takes, because worship isn’t about us or our preferences; It’s about recognizing God. But worship through the church isn’t all about music—another form of worship is giving. God knows we have to choose whether to serve money or serve Him, so we offer money to God in worship to show what’s really important. Using the power of money to spotlight God as the highest power is an important part of worship.

  3. Personal/Private Worship: Private worship is personal and takes a variety of forms. But regardless of the form, your personal worship should include praise, prayer, and devotion. Honoring God through worship should be something you do all the time.
